Coffee lovers rejoice! In honor of October 1st (which happens to be International Coffee Day and the signal to indulge in all things spooky and Autumnal), we have compiled a list of our favorite Fall coffee drink recipes you can cozy up to while watching reruns of your favorite childhood Halloween films. Ditch the long Starbucks bill at the end of every month and switch to making your favorite Fall beverage at home….with a little bit of help from us!

Your tastebuds (and wallet) will thank you.

Before you get brewin’, here are some great tips to make your coffee beverage even tastier. These small adjustments are sure to make a big difference!

Grind your own beans!

Grinding your own beans makes for a fresher pot and tastes significantly better than buying pre-ground coffee.

Buy organic, fair-trade coffee!

When you don’t buy organic and fair trade coffee, you’re not just buying coffee. Coffee that isn’t organic or fair trade is sprayed with harmful chemicals and pesticides, plus may have other things (cockroaches for instance), ground up with it. Steer clear!

When making french press coffee, wait for the bloom!

When making french press coffee, pour the water in the french press 30 seconds after it comes to a boil, pour a few inches in and wait for the coffee to bloom, before pouring the rest in!

Use filtered water!

Tap water has a ton of harmful additives such as chlorine and fluoride, which also tend to mess with the taste of your coffee. Use filtered water for the cleanest coffee flavor. Filtration systems such as the Berkey work perfectly for this, and will generally have you drinking purer, better water.

Use substitutions/enhancements to make your coffee healthier!

All of the below recipes can be substituted for plant-based milks if cow’s milk is something you want to cut out of your diet. Swapping refined sugar for more natural sweetener substitutes, such as maple syrup, coconut sugar, monk fruit, stevia, or honey, is also a great way to enjoy your Fall drinks guilt-free.
