MY DRAP at Engage!22 Summit

Last week, MY DRAP participated in Engage!22; a luxury wedding and events summit like no other. Hosted in the colorful city of New Orleans, this immersive experience featured the top wedding industry leaders, innovators and names. Among these names was MY DRAP, who provided all of the custom napkins and tea towels for the event.

Engage!22’s chief objective was to give top vendors in the luxury weddings and events space the opportunity to show off what they do best, in what was the most stunning events extravaganza of the year. This of course, comes at not only the height of wedding season, but at the busiest year for bridal affairs since Princess Diana’s wedding in 1981!

But there’s no need for FOMO! Luckily, the team at MY DRAP took notes, and are happily bringing you some creative and stunning ways to integrate some personality (and MY DRAP napkins,) into your own wedding tablescape. So whether you’re a soon-to-be blushing bride, or need some table inspiration for your next dinner party, keep reading!

Flowers are never overrated

The primary focal point of any wedding is often the flowers. The hot ticket for this season? The bigger the better! Go for grand floral displays that tower over your guests, immersing them into the romance and ethereal beauty that is the union between two lovers.

You can never go wrong with fresh arrangements of Cream Roses, White Gardenias, Camellias, or Baby’s Breath. Pair it with some clean, cream cotton napkins from our pre-set monogram collection (available on our exclusive Amazon store,) and you got yourself a timeless combination. Or, opt for a colorful cornucopia of blooms for the perfect vibrant Summer display. It’s your day, so do watcha wanna!

Don’t be afraid to go for bold flashes of color!

Classic doesn’t have to be cookie cutter. Engage!22’s table displays brought pops of vibrant linens, gilded candleholders, and vibrant accents that immediately drew attention to the eye. But why stop there? MY DRAP’s retail collection has an array of stunning colors and patterns that scream: Laissez les bon temps rouler! Mix and match cocktail and luncheon napkins for eye-catching color blocking combinations, or pair a custom, monogrammed cocktail napkin with a single pop of color in your larger-sized napkin.

Get creative with your mixology

One thing that didn’t go amiss at Engage!22 were all the delicious and creative beverages being served at almost every corner! The fabulous and talented team at Cocktail Academy, a California- based agency specializing in crafting personalized cocktail experiences, stole the show with their creative and dazzling mixology.

Wow your guests with a fun, personalized cocktail menu that expresses your unique personalities (don’t be afraid to get kooky and creative with the names!). Match your cocktail napkins to the colors of your drinks for that extra elevated touch!

Dance, dance, dance!

Engage!22 was one giant Mardi Gras-themed party! Events vendors and industry leaders connected over a shared passion for celebrating life, no matter the occasion. Each venue combined unique music, dance, and unforgettable performances by some of New Orlean’s best entertainers in the game, including a surprise performance by .

Your wedding should be a cause for celebration. Help your guests let loose on the dancefloor with a jazz band or DJ. The music really sets the tone, so think about the kind of energy you’d want your wedding to convey. Mix up your playlist with a combination of slow and fast songs to keep you guests on their toes!

A fun New Orleans tradition that was ever-present throughout Engage!22 was “Second Line”; a tradition where attendees would grab the nearest white handkerchief to wave in the air during times of celebration. This dates back to New Orleans jazz funerals, where a parade procession with white handkerchiefs in tow would follow a jazz band playing a song for the deceased. Now, celebrations of life, grand openings, births and weddings have added a second line parade to display the joy of their social events. So why not have your guests grab their MY DRAP napkins and do a Second Line at your wedding? A fun tradition that will not go unnoticed by your guests (and will make for some super cool photos!).

Themed is always more fun

Everyone loves a theme. Engage!22 embraced the Mardi Gras colors of purple, green, and yellow; this not only included the decor, but the outfits attendees wore to dinners and galas. Don’t be afraid to incorporate a theme or color palette you love into your wedding. This includes a set of MY DRAP napkins- we carry so many patterns and colorways that will suit any theme.

Your guests will love getting dressed up for the occasion, and the photos will turn out so much more beautiful and cohesive. Remember: nothing is too cheesy as long as you’re embracing your authentic selves.

Reimagine silverware

One detail that really stuck out during Engage!22 was the eccentric silverware and dishware making up all of the table displays. Our takeaway: silverware doesn’t just have to be silver! Opt for gold or brass cutlery for an eye-catching look. Don’t be afraid to mix and match different colored bowls, dishes, and charger plates to give your table some dimension and interest.

Also, don’t be afraid to incorporate some thematic elements into your tablescape. The New Orleans Gala at Engage!22 had gilded placemats displaying all of the moon phases as a way to tie in the mysticism of New Orleans culture. Don’t be afraid to experiment and get creative with your wedding display, depending on your theme.

So there you have it: your definitive guide to the ultimate Summer wedding, courtesy of Engage!22. We hope you were able to live vicariously through us and most importantly, take some inspiration into your own special day. May it be just as fun, authentic to you, and most importantly – a day filled with warmth, love, and happy memories. As they say in New Orleans: Laissez les bon temps rouler!
